The hysteria regarding Barack Obama is getting a little too thick for my taste. It's not that he's not an excellent candidate, a superb orator and great intellect, it's just the expectations by his most star-struck supporters are out of the realm of possibility. The worst part is that the Democratic Party and possibly Obama himself, are shamelessly pandering to the notion that he is some savior. I've seen saviors come and I've seen them go. Next to walking on water, a cartoon I already drew in January, 2007 (and since copied by others,) there is nothing he can't do short of raising the dead -- or at least they'd have us believe. He's a great guy -- really, he is -- but lay off the superlatives. He's a man. Once he gets in office, he'll discover that dreaming and reality are two different things. Oh, and make that IF he gets into office.
