cam050908_worst_crisisCOL.jpgIf you watch CNN as much as I do, you would think the tragedy in Myanmar is a minor event. The focus, as always, is the Democratic race and people complaining about the price of gas. I don't know if present-day U.S. is the most self-absorbed society in the history of mankind, but they have to be close. At least the media indicates it might be so. Top news story in Canada for three days running: The Myanmar disaster. Top news story in the U.S: Will Hillary stay in the race? It's not as through Canada is sinless here either in the self-absortion category, but at least our news media has its bearings correct. That said, other than the obligatory "that's too bad,"  the conversation will inevitably head right back to fuel costing a few more cents than it did last week. Life isn't fair. The next big tragedy will be having to sell the big luxury SUV. Is there no God?! Oh, the humanity!
