China doesn't seem to care about world opinion, as it relates to many things, including Tibet and human rights. That's unfortunate because they are about to emerge as the next world superpower -- A Communist superpower that crushes dissent and tramples human rights within its own borders, or will not play nice with the other kids on the block either. My guess is that they care a whole lot about the Olympics. This is China's time to showcase its culture, technological advances and new-found sophistication to the world. And my guess is they would take a threat to cancel the games in Beijing seriously. It won't happen though. If there is one thing that continues to underwhelm me is the lack of resolve by the rest of the world to confront tyranny wherever it exists. This is also why we are condemned to relive history over and over like the movie "Groundhog Day." Enough of this. Let's get back to talking about Britney again.
