cam042908_self_respectCOL.jpg I hate the Montreal Canadiens. I've hated them since rookie goalie Ken Dryden shut down my all-powerful 1971 Boston Bruins, led by the legendary Bobby Orr. By all accounts, the Bruins were the most talented team ever assembled and were destined to win the Stanley Cup. When they didn't, my step-father, an avid Canadiens fan, put a model tomb on the TV with the words "RIP Boston Bruins." As a final insult, he also lovingly drew in Bobby Orr's number 4. My anger still seethes. When I see their jerseys, I am transported back to 1971 and that big guy in goal. In fact, when I see Ken Dryden, now a Liberal MP, I still remember it. He will never get my vote -- ever. Neither therapy, or medication help.
