Fire Starter

cam120608_firestarterCOL.jpgI need to apologize to those of you who look forward to my rants and inconsistent posting, as of late. This has been a very busy season for me and the last week has just been nuts, so I have not been writing as frequently as I would like. Well, the firestorm that was last week in Canadian politics is now just a heap of ashes and smoke. Stéphane Dion resigned after Stephen Harper asked for and received prorogation of Parliament until late January. The coup attempt has been temporarily avoided, so we can all just get back to buying gifts and decorating the tree.  As well, the new interim Liberal leader, Michael Ignatieff, seems less excited than his predecessor at usurping democracy, so we'll see in January how this get played out. Ignatieff is not a career politician, but he is highly intelligent and should present some new challenges for Stephen Harper. As for Dion: Here's your coat; what's your hurry and don't let the door hit your read-end on the way out. Oh, and don't worry about the mess you left.
