There is no excuse for the kind of savagery that recently occurred in Afghanistan, where attackers sprayed acid onto the faces of young schoolgirls in order to terrorize, punish and injure. It is well known that the religious teaching of the Taliban denies girls the right to education and this attack was simply from hard-liners, who miss the good old days when men were human and women were not. To attack young schoolgirls though, is the epitome of cowardice. I cannot express the absolute contempt I have for these brainwashed minions of extremism. It's OK to hate America, democracy and everything Western. It's another thing to go after children, who have no idea why they would be targeted in the first place. As someone there said, maybe the perpetrators should have acid thrown in their faces and then hanged. I can't condone that either, but emotionally it would feel better.
