Tamil protesters decided to block one of Canada's busiest hi-ways to protest the war in Sri Lanka. Listen, kids... the whole reason you protest is to get the public on your side. Do this and watch how Canadians begin to hate you in droves. Think.

Stock Market Motion Sickness

cam100408_sickness_bagCOL.jpgEven those of us who don't normally concern ourselves with the stock market are feeling a little nauseated these days, especially when all the pundits start chiming in with their dire predictions. There are a couple of websites I've been following since the spring run by two computer geniuses who have been predicting this collapse since last year. Needless to say, it was eery to see the markets collapse in September exactly how they suggested it would months in advance. They use something called web bots to scour the Internet for chatter and then are able to somehow make predictions based on archetypes. So far, their hit rate has been impressive, but depending on your view of whether time is linear, or not, the whole thing might just be a bunch of hogwash. According to them, they were able to predict 9/11, the China earthquake, Sumatra and a bunch of other major events. Also, according to them, October 7, 2008 is the "release date" for all this economic tension buildup, with something the scale of a 9/11 event just on the horizon. I'm still waiting for it, whatever IT is. Regardless, it's a interesting concept to use computers to foretell the future. If you really want to feel a sense of nausea, just read what they predict for the future. It's like the feeling you got just after watching the first "Matrix" movie, where your entire sense of reality was briefly compromised. A small disclaimer: I do not endorse these sites in any manner, but offer this as an fascinating concept for consideration and another way for you to feel violently ill. Another disclaimer: Some of their predictions are just plain surreal and border on wacky. http://www.urbansurvival.com/week.htm http://www.halfpasthuman.com/NuHPHTheFuture.htm
